SHOWREEL
Here the full breakdown:
Lion King: In collaboration with my colleague He-Sun, we undertook a comprehensive overhaul of the original scatter tool prototype initially created in Houdini 17 by VFX supervisor Julien Bolbach. My focus was on optimization, involving rewriting specific network components in VEX to enhance performance. The result was a remarkable threefold increase in speed compared to the original tool, accompanied by significantly reduced memory usage. Additionally, I contributed by developing procedural vegetation tools and creating Digital Assets within Houdini.
Another Day Of Life: In my role as the Head of the Houdini department at "Walking The Dog" studio in Brussels, I led a team of four professionals. Our responsibility encompassed the creation of all Digital Assets related to smoke, explosions, and decomposition effects featured in the movie.
Richard The Stork: Within the Character Technical department, I pioneered the development of modular rigs for both primary and secondary characters, leveraging Python API/PyMel in Maya. Furthermore, I designed a C++ plugin to enhance feather management for the birds, offering an improved alternative to Maya's particle instancer.
The Admiral: As the rigging supervisor for this production, my team and I engineered an auto-rigging system to accommodate the diverse array of ships, totaling around nine in the entire film. Additionally, we implemented dynamic systems for the ropes using Maya 2015.
Asterix et le domaine de Dieu: In my role as a Pipeline TD for the Cloth Environment, I developed specialized PySide-based UI tools to facilitate cloth management within Maya. I also streamlined the workflow for reconstructing shots in Maya, importing cloth setups, and generating alembic outputs.
Jack et la mécanique du cœur: As the Rigging Supervisor, I successfully led a team of six professionals in the development of character and prop auto-rigs within Maya. Our scope encompassed rigging for over 150 characters and 300 props, a substantial achievement completed in approximately nine months.
Sammy 2: The Great Escape: Within the rigging team, I assumed responsibility for the full rig of the main character Jimbo, collectively, i contributed to the rigging of approximately 20 characters in the film, employing NWave auto-rigging techniques and extending functionalities and modules to enhance efficiency and quality.
